Applique & Cards with Letters

Handmade Cards & Applique

I have been making cards with the letters and the Christmas Lights from my book. I thought those who bought my book and others who are into card making may be interested in the designs.

You are welcome to use these ideas in your own craft projects.

I have a wonderful machine called the Scan N Cut. I scanned my letters and lights from my book, then printed the ones I wanted onto nice watercolour paper and put it through the Scan N Cut. This machines then scans the outline and cut a 2 mm outline around the images. Saves me all that fussy cutting.

If you have not purchased my book called "Creative Doodling with Judy A 2 Z",  it is full of Letters, Numbers, Borders and Frame Outlines ready to colour or doodling inside of. It can be used for all sorts of crafts.

If you wish to purchase my book you can follow this link to my Etsy Store https://www.etsy.com/listing/192886008/creative-doodling-with-judy-west-a-2-z?

In my Scan N Cut Classes we have been using my book designs to create some applique pieces. Below are pictures of some of the pieces we produced.

I scanned these images from my book,  with my Scan N Cut and enlarged them, separated the sections I wanted in different colours and them cut each piece of fabric, with the Scan N Cut.

If you are interested in doing these Scan N Cut Classes check out my blog in the new year for dates and class info.

Celtic Christmas Tree

CELTIC CHRISTMAS TREE

Merry Christmas everyone. I have posted this for you. You are welcome to download and use however you like or just look at for ideas of your own.

I am still playing with this image, and will post more as I get time to draw.

My wrist strain from toooooooo much drawing is improving as long as I don't draw for too long.

Hope you enjoy and have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Celtic Challenge 36

Celtic Challenge 36

Hi all, I have another challenge for you this month. It is not a large design but it is chunky, so you have plenty of room to doodle.

Colour or shade if you wish. Just have fun with it.

As most of you know I am developing a New Toy to help us all draw Celtic Designs more easily. This design was drawn that way in just a couple of minutes.

I have been looking into having this Toy produced and will be meeting with someone this week to discuss the details. So I will keep you all up to date with the progress.

I am also teaching a Celtic Knot Class at Stamper's Wonderland this Thursday night and also the following week. These people will get to play with the toy first. Sorry Guys, but I need to test my skills at instructing people on its use. Once I am happy that people can easily understand I will do a youtube video for those who cannot get to my classes but want to play.

Hope you all enjoy this months Celtic Challenge.

Please leave your designs in the Mr Linky below so we can all enjoy what you have done.

Alphabet Letter Patterns

ALPHABET LETTER PATTERNS

I have been so busy I have not posted these for a while, so I have three for you today, "H, I & J."

                                       STEP 1                                     STEP 2                            STEP 3

                                      STEP 1                   STEP 2                   STEP 3                STEP 4

                                           STEP 1                STEP 2               STEP 3                  STEP 4

I am still working on the Celtic Pattern Toy, trying to arrange for it to be made at a reasonable cost, as I believe craft should be affordable for every one. Also I am drawing lots of samples and writing out easy instructions that I can continue to post for those not confident in coming up with their own designs. I have never made a youtube video before, and believe it will be the best way to show how to make the Celtic Knot Designs, so I am learning to do that also. I would like to have this ready before Christmas, but I am not promising.

Hope you enjoy these patterns.

Celtic Pattern Maker

Celtic Pattern Maker

I have made myself a new toy that makes it easier for me to draw Celtic Designs. I have done 16 since yesterday with a minimum of fuss. I have posted a few of them below. The first designs are in pencil and the scanner makes them look blotchy but you get the idea.

These ones below I have inked in the outlines and cleaned them up a bit more.

What do you think?

Hope you like them. I think I am on a roll. I will post some more when I have finished playing,

Flower Outline 3

FLOWER OUTLINE 3

Well I do not know what is happening but my Wacom Pen decided it would play nice today. I have not been able to calibrate it for a few weeks now and all of a sudden it is all lined up without me doing anything so I give up. If anyone knows about these pens I would love some advice.

Here is a flower outline for you to play with. Colour, doodle, zentangle or whatever you like, just enjoy. You have my permission to use your finished works however you please, but if you want to use my outlines only, please direct people back to my site or ask permission.

My book has just been reprinted and I now have plenty of stock, so if you would like some alphabet, numeral, word, border or frame outlines that mix and match, just follow the Etsy link to the right of this post.

Mandala 2

MANDALA 2 OUTLINE

Hi all. I am having computer issues at present. My Wacom pen is not co-operating and I cannot get it to calibrate. If there is anyone out there who knows what the problem is when the pen will not calibrate please let me know.

I usually post these designs in light blue so you can do whatever colour you like over the top but until my Wacom pen plays nice I am afraid you get it in black.

Hope you like the outline.

I hope to post 2 new Alphabet Patterns this Thursday as I did not get to post one last week.

Have a great week everyone.

Celtic Challenge 35

Celtic Challenge 35

My printer/scanner is not co-operating with me this week. I think I need to retire it and buy a new one. I cannot get it to print properly. Black turns out dark red etc and the scanner which used to be quite good is not picking up all the colour in pictures and the look very motley.

I guess what I am trying to tell you all is that I do not have a completed picture to show you for this challenge even though I have done one. I will need to enlist someone with a good camera and add the finished pic later if you all don't mind.

I hope you enjoy decorating this one as much as I did. I used a bit of colour with mine, but it is up to you how you decorate.

I would love to see the results, so add them too the Mr Linky below so we can all admire your efforts.

The Letter F

                      STEP 1                  STEP 2                      STEP 3                   STEP 4

As you can see by the illustration above I have changed the way I lay out my pattern instructions. I hope you find this way easy to follow. I have been trialling this in my classes and have used this method of pattern step outs in my book, and most people seem to find it easy to follow. I would love to know what you think.

My book has been selling well. Thank you to those who have purchased a copy already. I am expecting to pick up the second print ruin this week as I am almost out of copies.

I am having trouble deciding what to do for my second book. The hard part is probably deciding what not to do. Here are some of my ideas, please give me some comments on what you would prefer to see next.

The a 2 z Alphabets Book 2.

Celtic Knot Designs

Mandala Outlines

The Basics of Creative Doodling

The first three books would be mainly outlines that you could copy and doodle into.
The last book would be an in depth  look at my version of Creative Doodling and how to design your own pictures to doodle into. It would be written with the person who cannot draw in mind, but there would be a lot to offer for the person who could draw also.

I would love to get your feed back on what you would like me to provide in the next book. If you have ideas other than what is listed above I would love to hear them also.

For those who have not bought my first book the link is below if you are interested.

Mandala Ouline 1

MANDALA OUTLINE 1

Hi all. I am going to be posting a Mandala Outline on the 2nd Monday of each month. I have drawn it in Light Blue so that you can go over it in any darker colour that you wish.

I have made it quite large for those who like it that way, but you can easily reduce the size on your computer without loss of resolution.

These outlines are for your personal use only. If you want to use them in any other way you need to contact me first. You can post your finished works online but please let others know where you got your outline from.

I have recently published a book full of outlines. It is called Creative Doodling with Judy A 2 Z. There are many new doodling patterns as well as outlines of 7 different alphabets with matching numerals, words, greetings, borders and frames.
